STRIVE’s Science of Reading Course: Research to Application

(Also called STRIVE’s Evidence-Based Teacher Training Course: Research to Application)


Apply the Science of Reading to your daily instruction in with this 45-hour course. This course can be done virtually or in-person (or a combination) and incorporates your state standards, school/district curriculum, and assessment data. Course presented in 6 modules. Participants receive How Do I Plan and Teach Reading Groups and access to additional resources. Continuing Education/Post Baccalaureate Credit and Licensure Renewal Credit (MT) available.  

STRIVE’s Disciplinary Literacy Research to Application

Apply the Science of Literacy to your daily instruction in middle and high school. This course can be done virtually or in-person (or a combination) and incorporates your state standards, school/district curriculum, and assessment data. Course consists of several modules that include an instructional framework, reading (vocabulary, comprehension), writing, motivation, engagement, data-literacy, and intervention. 


Licensure Renewal Credit (MT) available.

We Made Do is a historical account about a family’s generosity to others during the Great Depression. “Here,” said Shirley, shoving the candy bar into his hands. She let go quickly as if she didn’t trust herself not to take it back. “It has caramel, chocolate, and nuts in it. It’s my favorite.” The boy carefully opened the candy wrapper and took a tiny bite. He smiled. Shirley smiled too. For the first time since this whole mess had begun, Shirley witnessed a true smile from a stranger.
